The short version: your kids' info stays on your phone.
This page is the plain-English version. Below is exactly what KidzVault and the kidzvault.com website do and don't do with data.
What KidzVault (the app) does
KidzVault is a Progressive Web App. When you install it or use it in your browser, the kids' data you enter — names, doctors, teachers, coaches, login hints, reminder dates — lives in your device's local storage. It doesn't leave your device. There's no KidzVault server holding your kids' info.
- No cloud sync. If you uninstall the app or clear your browser, your data is gone — there's no backup we can restore from, because we never had a copy.
- No accounts. You don't sign up. We don't know who you are. We can't see your data even if we wanted to.
- No tracking pixels, no analytics SDKs, no third-party ads. KidzVault doesn't load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Mixpanel, or any other behavioral tracker.
- Optional encryption. Settings → Security lets you lock the app with a PIN or password. Data is encrypted on your device using AES-GCM 256 via the browser's native Web Crypto. We can't read it. Nobody can without your code.
- Export to share. When you tap "Share Emma's info," the app generates a printable PDF in your browser and prompts you to save or print. The PDF never goes through our servers. Login hints are excluded automatically.
What the kidzvault.com website does
The website you're reading right now — kidzvault.com and its pages — is hosted on Netlify. Standard web-server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) are kept by Netlify per their privacy policy and used for performance and security. We don't read or analyze those logs.
- Email waitlist. If you enter your email on the home page or the in-app email gate, it goes to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), an email service. Kit stores your email so we can send you launch updates. You can unsubscribe from any email or email us at hello@kidzvault.com to be removed.
- No website analytics. We don't load tracking on this site either. The pages are static HTML.
- Google Fonts. The Fraunces and Inter typefaces load from Google's CDN. Google may log your IP address per their CDN terms. If this matters to you, browser extensions like uBlock Origin can block font loads.
What we share with anyone
Nothing. We don't sell, license, rent, or share your email or any data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties. If we ever change this, we'll email everyone on the list before it happens.
What we'd need from you to delete your data
- Kids' data in the app: uninstall the app, or in Settings → Reset demo data. We have no copy.
- Email on the waitlist: click "unsubscribe" in any email we send, or email hello@kidzvault.com. We'll remove you from Kit within 7 days.
